Karin J. Lopez MBA
Karin joined the team at Arista Wealth Advisors Ltd. in 2002 and has since become Vice President and Partner in the firm. Karin is experienced with more than 16 years in the industry providing comprehensive financial advice. Karin works directly with clients to help them accomplish their financial goals through preparation of financial plans, retirement planning, planning for education funding, and investment management. Karin assists clients with identifying their investment objectives and preparing investment portfolios to meet their financial goals. This includes analysis for asset allocation and positioning portfolios for diversification, while making sure the portfolio is suitable based on risk tolerance and client objectives. Other functions include assessing market conditions, researching, preparing and monitoring the recommended list of suitable funds, maintaining compliance requirements within the firm as well as overseeing many of the firm’s day to day operations and providing training to staff associates. She is passionate about partnering with clients in creating a clear path towards the realization of their goals and in line with their values while guiding them through the various stages of wealth creation through accumulation, transition, inter-generational transfers, distribution and preservation.
Karin began her path in the Financial Services field at Trustco working in the Trust Department where she gained working knowledge of Trust Investments. She has also gained experience working in a brokerage firm running managed asset programs. Karin is a member of the Financial Planning Association, Women in Financial Services, Women’s Business Council and is currently enrolled in the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP) course.
Karin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with honors from the State University of New York at Albany and then later graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany. Karin was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma – National Honor Society for Business Administration and Accounting at SUNY Albany in 1996. Previously, Karin held FINRA securities licenses 7 and 63, and obtained her Insurance license with the State of New York. Karin also attended and completed the Cannon Trust School in Boston, MA.
