Tim is a founding member and president of Arista Wealth Advisors, Ltd., a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with the Securities and Exchange Commission which currently manages investments in excess of $144 million for various individuals, corporations, pension plans, and not-for-profit organizations on a fee-only basis. He utilizes his Certified Financial Planner™ designation to provide wealth management and investment advisory services to clients.
Co-Founded in 1988, Tim is also a Principal of the Albany, NY based law firm Burke & Casserly, P.C. Tim focuses his practice in estate planning, elder law, business and financial planning.

He has lectured nationally to professionals, corporations and to the general public on issues pertaining to the elderly and planning for long-term care and has been quoted on these issues in the New York Times and Money Magazine. He has also authored many articles on the same topics for professional journals and periodicals and co-authored Boomer Basics: Everything You Need to Know About the Issues Facing You, Your Children, and Your Parents – a planning guide for consumers published by McGraw Hill.
Tim was named a Super Lawyer in 2009 through 2015 and was selected for inclusion on the New York Super Lawyers - Upstate Edition List, as well as Top 25 Attorneys in Hudson Valley Magazine's Super Lawyer Section. Tim has also earned the Martindale-Hubbell® AV Preeminent® rating, a testament to his peers ranking him at the highest level of professional excellence.
Tim has been an active participant with the New York State Bar Association, and is a past Chair of the Elder Law Section. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association, and is a past Chair of it’s Northeastern New York Chapter. He has been recognized by each organization for his achievements in these fields.
Tim received his Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, New York and his B.A. from Boston College. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and he is admitted to the State Bars of New York and Colorado.
Tim serves on the Board of Directors of Medicus Christi, Ltd., a non-profit organization established to bring much needed medical care to impoverished, underserved people of the Developing World. Since 2014, he has also been on the Board of Directors of Community Maternity Services, an agency of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany. CMS is committed to providing a continuum of services for children, families and pregnant and parenting adolescents.
